lactose are crystalized milk sugar particles. fructose are crystalized fruit sugar particles and high corn fructose syrup are crystalized sugar particles from corn. all are used in commercially processed foods and most have been invented by the japanese in the 1970's. it's less expensive than cane sugar and some experts say that it's worse for your body-the way it's processed in your body-makes people gain weight. food companies use this kind of sweetener because it's more profitable and easier to makew in large quantities.
