What's the best way to clear out my singing voice? I sing, though somewhat often, my voice isn't as clear as it should be. I have to clear my throat because it's raspy, and I can't do as many things as I want or need to because of it being raspy. Is there anything I can drink or do to clear out my voice without making it worse or damaging it?

Someone told me that I already damaged it...so is that true?

And no, I do not smoke. I don't do any drugs, and I do not drink alcohol. Umm...I do drink dairy somewhat often, but not too often. I don't drink water all that often, only when I have the taste for it.

salt water is good for that kind of thing (just gargle it, no need to swallow...). and lemon tea with honey. Also, there's this brand of tea called Traditional Medicinals and they have a tea called Throat Coat that really works for me. I don't know if they have it where you are, but you could look into it. Good luck!!

You do need to drink water! A lot more water than dairy!
Just in general - keeps your body hydrated and working properly.

As far as raspy - do you have any allergies? Sinus problems?
I know a lot of singers are really into a nice cup of hot tea. Clears the head, clears the sinuses, warms up the vocal chords.

drink water with a whole lemon squeezed into it. Also take allergy pills. You probably have a lot of drainage
