If sarcasm costs you friends because they don't "get you" - they were never really your friends to begin with. Friends know you and like you, not just for your good qualities but also for your bad ones (not that sarcasm is a bad thing- I'd like to mention it on my resume under achievements or something of the like).
This being said- sarcasm can tread a fine line which can border on witchy :) Just don't be too scathing and you'll be safe..lol

Yes I am but the people I hang out with are also sarcastic so It has not caused me a friendship. But if a person were to not want to be my friend because of sarcasm then that would probably be better anyways. But I do know when NOT to be sarcastic! obviously!

I can be very sarcastic at times.......lost a boyfriend over that..but then he "did not get it".......wasn't nasty.....but then he was a dreamy piscean who took a bit everything to heart.
No regrets though......
Other people who know me......like it.
Almost cost me a job but then everybody had to pretend to such "nice" people..
Yeah..that's is my downfall......but I like sarcastic people so that we can "play" and take the mickey out of each other.....as long as it stays within boundaries.
I never liked goody-goodies and holier than thou folks.....or people I consider (maybe arrogant on my part no doubt !!!) idiots.
And I like the way sarcastic people can put back to my place as well.
So it goes both ways :-)
My definition of sarcasm can be somewhat different from an American one though......A kind of biting wit which goes to the point. Like some people are very good with playing with words.
It does not necessarily mean being nasty......just bringing a point in a different way..
But I am careful with different people. Some would get offended way too easily and be hurt when I would not mean to.

As a teen I was terrible. And yes, it did cost me friendships......I didn't care then, I do now. I would now like to find some of those people and talk about it.
I still have sarcastic tendency's, but I do it in fun way. If negativity comes through, I keep it to myself or my closest friends.

I can be sarcastic. My husband has often said to me, "I can do without the sarcasm." But I do try not to go overboard with it. I try to use it more as a type of humour and also not direct it at people I care about. I'm more sarcastic with things like the government and the way people drive.

I was not trying to make friends when I was sarcastic. I quit the sarcasm a few years ago when I saw a documentary aout conversations. The commentator said that sarcasm is a demeaning communication. When a person uses sarcasm he/she is trying to make themself appear to be superior. It is not a legitimate form of conversation because it leaves no room for response......an insult is insinuated and doesn't invite an exchange............................ I thought about that for a long time and came to the conclusion it was true. I am no longer sarcastic. Good luck !

Yes, I am sarcastic and truth be told, it has probably cost me a lot. But, that's just the way I am. I doubt I'll change anytime soon. I have always been this way. But, honestly, I prefer the term "witty" as opposed to "sarcastic" - it sounds better!

Sarcasm is foundation of my sense of humor. Other sarcastic people consider me funny. Non-sarcastic people think I have no sense of humor at all. Children don't get me at all. When I try to entertain my little cousins and nephews, I just end up making them confused. But then I laugh at their reactions, so I'm okay with it.

i have this friend for two years, shes very sarcastic, and it really hurts me a lot. Im a sensitive person. Now, we're not talking for 6 months already. Im not talking to her and Im avoiding her and i think she got the message. My patience is over. I would rather have no friend at all than having a friend like her.
