The Canes. We beat everybody else. We did it with a 36 year old team captain, an assistant captain who had played 169 playoff games without winning a cup, a rookie goalie, a young superstar, a coach nobody wanted, and a great player that came back from a broken neck. Rod Brind'Amore, Glen Wesley, Cam Ward, Eric Staal, Peter Laviolette, and Erik Cole... Nobody thought that we could do it, not even the players did at first. But we came together, we got the job done, and now everybody else can sit back and wonder how in the world they got beat by the team that's game got called, "Redneck Hockey." We waited soooo long for this and now we got it. YES!!!

I think it's nearly impossible for a team to win the Cup that does not deserve it. The playoffs are four rounds of 'best of seven'. Your team has to beat the other team FOUR times before you advance (or win the Cup in the final round). Unlike the NFL, which is a very close second favorite of mine behind the NHL, there's almost zero room for a fluke play to decide who advances.

deserves? Carolina! Yes they beat both Buffalo and Edmonton by a hair but what does it matter? They STILL won! Itwasn't Edmonton or Buffalo holding the Cup over their heads, now was it?

the buffalo sabres. note that carolina could barely beat us when we were missing 5 of our top players. carolina, with those same players could also barely beat edmonton, which clearly shows that buffalo is better than both, and will win next year.
