This is a really stupid question and I feel stupid asking it but... I REALLY like this girl in school; not just for her looks, but personality and other things too. Only problem is, she's 2 1/2 years older than me. I turned 13 in early March, while she turned 16 3 or 4 days ago. Am I a bit to young to be close to her and be really good friends? I'm an only child, and I consider myself to be a pretty mature Grade 7 student, compared to some.

Anyways, just a question.

My son is 11 and entering 7th grade. So yeah, your very mature to be in 7th grade. Heck, I was 12 when I started high school, but that's just due to starting early then skipping a grade. I had no interest in boys until I was 16 and even then I dated only guys who were in college, because I met so many in my scholarship classes.

What I am saying is that, it's not a stupid question, it's a rather precocious one. Just be her friend, there will be time enough later one to have her notice you. Get your education, and your sports and some kissing experience before you try for the real prize. I mean you wouldn't try to run in the Olympics before you could run in a track meet at school?

i am 15 and i would never go out with a 13 year old. Even if i thought he was cute. Wait till you are like 18 and she is 20 that would be a lot better. You need time to grow up a little more ou may think you are mature but science says your not. Your brain is not ready. and no have friends you age. I went though that stage of having older friends and it did not get me were i wanted to be. so don't do it.

Their is nothing wrong with being friends with someone not your age but going into a friendship knowing you like this person more than that isn't a good idea. Though the age gap isn't much and you're both still underage to some it might be exceptible... but the reality of it is your both in different places in your life that are crucial and different worlds with different experiances ahead. Couldn't you wait a few more years all these changes lessen some and your worlds start to collide ... personally i wouldn't even go for it until you're 20 but just my opinion... it might it strange!

Sucks to be at that age. 13 and 16 are seen as such a huge difference whereas 21 and 24 are not at all...
It's also true that at the ages you're at now, girls prefer older guys, so my advice to you is to prepare for heartache. But it doesn't have to be that way. You can be really great friends with her. Who knows what could come of that. Good luck, dude.

I assume she is at least a little interested in you too.

Spend some time together getting to know each other. If you are mature for your age you may find you have stuff in common and get on well. 10 years from now your age difference will mean nothing so spend the time and see what happens

Hi, Age is not the Question. To begin with, what ever age you are. the best thing you can do is be friends first. and then work your way up from heir. yu may find while your friends, their are things in the other persons life you don't want to live with on a day/ay basis.which can change. then you can step in and hae a relatinship.
by he time you go through all that age won't matter. LOVE IS LOVE> and if it's real, time won't change it. But friends at first is best. Peggy.B

I wish you the best of luck...but there's a big difference in a 16 year girl and a 13 year old guy. But if you really like her, then you wont know if you dont try.

Only you can answer that question my friend, How does she feel about you? In the real world age realyy doesn't matter in most cases. Just be you and she what happens you have a long time ahead in a very big world don't rush it.

Right now it seems like a pretty big gap but if you think about it if you were 20 she would only be 23 or so. So in the long run i dont think its a big gap.
