This question is not meant to be anti-Israeli.

I've been noticing for a long time now that U.S. policy in the middle east tends to slide towards Israel more than any other nations. Eygpt is a U.S. ally in Northern Africa yet America doesn't waste time to criticize Mubarak for his oppressive crackdowns on protestors and pro-democracy movements.

When Israel uses oppressive crackdowns such as checkpoints, security barriers and shelling civilian populations than it is seen as self defense. If Iran did the same thing to its neighbors America would be screaming. Why turn the other cheek when it comes to Israel? Isn't this a double standard because Israel "is the Middle East's only Democracy?" Israel isn't better than any other nation nore is it superior. Arab countries shouldn't be deemed as inferior to countries outside the region because they are not democracies. Why this unfairness?

Because of the HUGE contributions given to the paid-for American politicians by the wealthy Jews on the East Coast... it's that simple.!.. really..!

At a time, Israel was the only country in the Middle East that supported the U.S. and so America propped them up financially to keep the country from going under. This has grown into a feeding frenzy by the washington politicos for the Jewish Dollars.

You write your question is not meant to be anti-Israel, but I see it that way.

Checkpoints, security barriers and targeted killings of terrorist leaders (not shelling civilian populations) are justified responses to Palestinian terrorism. Countless suicide bombings (buses, discos, cafes, kibbutzes), drive by shootings (people just trying to go home and/or visit someone), kassams flying by Sderot and before Gilo by Palestinian terrorists cannot go unanswered. Every country (including Israel) has a right to self defense.

Israel and America are allies and believe it or not, they have the same values and need each other.

The United States and Russia proposed the establishment of a place for displaced Jewish persons after WWII. 'Israel' was created as a result. The U.S. has been protecting this 'policy interest' ever since.

We will fight for Isreal, We have made them our strongest allies. We are a democracy as are they. They are not burning our flag, and they saved the world from Sadaams nuclear weapons. They dont strap bombs on their preteens.

If Israel were in charge of anti-taliban, there wouldn't be any terrorists left. They hold back at the request of the USA....but technically...they got spunk!
