Nothing you can do to make them stop. I hate when that happens, it is just beyond rude when a strange guy is catcalling at you and you can't react because you're just supposed to ignore them in case they retaliate. The racial slurs are just so wrong, too. This type of harassment in the streets happens to too many women and it really shouldn't be tolerated in our society. Click on this link that deals with street harassment and read about what a lot of women are going through and how they are fighting back.

Try to avoid them as much as you can. Is there any way you can get other people, especially guys to walk with you? Hey, this might be an ideal situation to talk to that guy you've been eyeing, a good excuse to ask him if he'll walk with you to protect you! hehe
But seriously, the more people you have with you the better. You really shouldn't be walking alone like that if the situation is that bad.

don't let it bother you , if they see it bothers you the more they'll like to do it.(name calling, flirting)
Allot of Latino men are just like that ,there flirty , I know because my moms side of the family is Latino.
Don't get all , like i have too look down at the ground an look away , because avoiding a problem is like making a problem worse
( B E L E V E M E i Know!)
I would go up to them an say what you feel ,say i relay don't like you guys filtering with me an calling me names it makes me feel insecure or it hurts my feelings , an watch them straiten up real fast.
That might sound childish too you but avoiding a problem is relay more childish .
It might sound stupid , (to say the above) but the truth isn't always easy to say . But it better than lieing avoiding getting pissed off could EVERRRR ! be
preserver an you will triumph - Jesus Christ

awww, I know how you feel, Ive seen that happen to others. That's the typical urban atmosphere you'll get in populated areas. Its a shame really. Well, look at BROOKLYN, NY or BRONX, NY...most people are outside of their apartments playin' or staring at women, others busy about their lives. My advice, just say good morning, always be polite & go about your business, but the moment they lay a finger on you, fight back, hit them or scream! I also suggest you carry your car keys or something sharp with you at all times, so you can use it for self-defense. Take care & Im hoping for you.

that used to happen to a friend of mine that lives in nyc. sorry to say but i dont think that there's anyway that you can stop them...especially if there's multiple people doing it. just ignore it the most you can and go about your own business. if it gets completely out of hand, then maybe you can turn to the police for some assistance.
