Shaving is not a widely accepted practice worldwide. There is a reason we have hair on our bodies.
I think it's very vain and self-righteous that Americans are disgusted by people who don't shave, because most of the world doesn't. So, yes, many Europeans don't shave and more power to them! It would save me a few valuable hours a week if I didn't!

From what I have heard, it is true. It is also not limited to France, but as well as to some of the women that grace us here in the states. I say fine if you want to look like a bush baby.
