if you have more than one say firefox and IE the default it the one that will be used to open any web page unless its windows updates then you need IE

default web brower means that the browser like firefox set as default, means all html extensions and programs shortcuts and all things go to firefox..

default web browser is the browser that will be used to open all web pages file eg. html, asp, files
you can set Internet Explorer or Firefox or other browsers as your default web browser

When you do anything that uses a web browser, your computer will automatically bring up the default one. ex: if internet explorer is default and you open a link, internet explorer will open.
