I agree with ivb524. Young baby animals may need to be stimulated so that they will go. You can also try lightly rubbing its belly in downward strokes, but if it cause the kitten any pain, stop and wait for the vet. If you need advice from a technicain, you can look up your local emergency veternarian clinic and give them a call. Most should be open 24hrs to answer phones. I would especially call if you plan on giving any medications or trying cat laxatives. These may be ok to comfort an adult cat, but 8 week young kittens can be fragile and great care should be taken in administering medication. Good Luck!

Sometimes kittens have to be stimulated to use the bathroom. A mom cat will stimulate the rectum to help ease the little one. You can take a paper towel and wet it and do this yourself. I know that it sound disgusting but if this is what is needed then you have to do this. You can call any local vet and they will tell you this. It may not work the first time so you have to keep trying. I am serious i know it sounds like a joke but it can a kitten sick if they cannot use the bathroom.

Make sure he has lots of water to drink and wait until you can see a vet. Some people medicines are bad for kittens - even toxic - so it's better not to risk it. You can also massage his little belly if he'll let you.

Wow, I would try some Myclicon infant drops. They are used for gas in babies, but maybe it's a 'gas' blockage.

did you just find this kitten? It could have worms! That is more likely than plain ol gas or consipation. Get it to a vet.

i understand that U don't want to go to the E-Vet with something "simple", BUT...

if U say "constipated" because the cat/kitten is straining in the litter-box, there's a good chance it's NOT 'constipation'.

it could be: an INTESTINAL OBSTRUCTION, a FOREIGN OBJECT, an INTUSSECEPTION, a URINARY INFXN, a BLADDER BLOCKAGE...

& any one of them *might Kill* Ur kitty.

Did U take a rectal temp?

[if U don't know what that is or how to do it, JUst Go To The Vet! it might be very urgent... & i'm sure it's painful!]

if u adopted this kitty without it having an exam 1st: worms!!!! if kitty is wormed, and otherwise healthy, "cat-lax", readily available in any department store (i.e. walmart, major grocery chain). failure to treat this conditon ASAP may result in major illness or death! Take him to a vet. Maybe they have enemas for kittens to loosen up his bowels.
