I had Mozilla as my default browser for a while but I've decided to switch back to Internet explorer. For some reason it's not working and I'm now browsing with Netscape. I have a feeling it has something to do with my antivirus, because I suspended the antivirus and it started to work. I fooled around a lot with the connection settings for Internet Explorer, I may have messed it up!Any suggestions?

Technically your Internet Explorer should automatically ask you if you want it as your default browser. if not, then do this:

With Internet Explorer opened, go to Tools, Internet Options, under the Programs tab - check "Internet Explorer should check whether it is the default browser", click Apply, then OK. Close Internet Explorer. The next time you open Internet Explorer it will ask if you want to make it the default browser, answer yes.

In Internet Explorer, click Tools » Internet Options. Click on the Programs tab. Check the box that says 'Chech to see if Internet Explorer is my default browser' (or something like that). Click Ok. Close Internet Explorer and re-open it. When it asks to make it the default browser, click Yes.

A default browser must have a lot less beginning and loading time. IE will be good for that cuz it doesn't use a lot memory. Firefox is even if optimal decision via safe practices reason like phishing on internet now a days, yet Firefox takes lots of memory. i in my opinion pick Firefox as I easily have 3 Gb RAM ;)

Go to tools then internet options and then go to the programs tab.

Below there is a checkbox for "Tell me if IE is not the default browser" Check it and then it will ask you next time you use it. Then when the notification pops up, just click on "Make IE my internet default browser" and it will make it your default.
