A problem without a solution is called a dilema or a paradox, and there are many of them, and many kinds.

One branch of mathematics is called logic, and there are lots of logic challenges that have no answer. For example:

The barber in a certain town brags that he shaves EVERYONE in the town who does not already shave himself. So does the barber shave himself? If he does, then he is shaving someone who does shave himself, so he's lying. If he doesn't, then there is someone in the town who does not shave himself who the barber does not shave, so he is lying then, too. This is an example of a logical paradox, when all possible answers - even ones that are opposite, are false.

Math has dilemas in other ways, too. The Bridges of Königsberg is a topological puzzle with no solution (see the second link below).

And there are life dilemas - instances in life where there's no right answer. Should you steal to feed your family? If you steal, you're wrong, if you don't feed your family, you're wrong. So this is a dilema - a problem without a right solution.

I hope that your dilemma is mathematical and not in life!
