I downloaded and installed Vista a few days ago, and I was just wondering what other users thought of it.

Vista is still in beta, you should probably take anything you see on your system or anything you hear about it at this point with a grain of salt. It's not done yet.

I don't have a machine to run Vista on at the moment, but I am cautiously optimistic. Some of the things they're doing with drivers, memory management and security sound good, at any rate. The eye candy is apparently important to some people, and what I've seen is pretty nice, but the graphics really aren't important in the long run.

To address the Mac zealot above me, please bear in mind that a lot of the goodness OS X has is from the FreeBSD base. The machines cost more than their functional equivalents, and while it's nice and stable and sensical (thanks FreeBSD), it's years behind the curve in terms of games or other serious applications.

I'm not going to bother with Vista. I'll tell you why, I have a stable, working and beautiful OS with all of the "revolutionary" features Vista has been said to have. It's called MacOS X "Tiger". And when the great rip-off "Vista" (short for Viruses, Intruders, Spyware, Trojans, Ad-ware) is finally released, there will be a new version of OS X, and again, MacOS will be years ahead of Microsoft.

one million gig of Ram would be kinda slow with Vista. you decide on 2 a minimum of. I even have 4000Mb and it says basically 3007Mb are left in my components after my OS is lively. i admire vista, it particularly is proper and exciting. I heard alot of BS that categorical video games and purposes wouldnt artwork on Vista yet enable me inform you, my Vista has performed each game i ever had. of path on your peripherals you are going to might desire to place in new Vista drivers, yet by utilising now as long as your hardware companies nonetheless help your merchandise, then they're going to certianly have drivers waiting. heavily i dont be apologetic approximately vista, you purely gotta get use to the greater moderen annoying stuff like how diverse some issues are to get admission to and how they supply the effect of being.
