Agreeing with some of the previous posts, spiders are good. And very few can hurt you. They usually capture and "eat" pest bugs. Whenever I find a little group of newly hatched spiders I try to place them somewhere where they can get warm and grow and catch a breeze for the tiny "parachutes" they extent to blow in the wind and disperse.

Oh, and yes, we do have jumping spiders here too. They usually don't spin a web rather relying on their ability to pounce on their victim. We call them wolf spiders...

Isn't the common jumping spider, small with black and white stripes? Small as in, no bigger than a pea. Yeah, they're creepy, but have you ever seen an the web from an Orb spider, they're beautiful, and take great pictures, if covered in morining dew. Be careful of the Brown Recluse as it will eat away your flesh if left untreated. Seriously, Google it and see pics. for yourself.

I see jumping spiders...here's good a trick to get rid of them.

1. make sure it's spider
2. Scream
3. Jump
4. Run to the phone
5. Call your cousin (like i do) to come kill.

Fact: When the spiders jumps, just be sure you jump FARTHER AWAY from the spider.

Hairsprays supposed to freeze them in one spot and i heard they hate lemon juice with a passion, the will stear clear of it.

Other than the male genitalia, spiders are the nastiest things on earth. It's hard to find something in the same category of hideousness. I ALWAYS get bit and the bites get huge and irritate me!! I say, KILL THE BASTARD!

as a almost 20yr old man, i still get spooked by spiders, i don't mind the small jumping ones as they appear as harmless as they are, but i get these daddy long-legs w/ almost dime sized bodies and 2.5 inch legs creeping along my basement. only creepier bug i see often are centipedes long and wide as your index finger and fat as a teddy gram, which is above average in the area i live in.
