Depends on whether you're actually interested in what he does. It's a good way to gain work experience if you genuinely want to go into his field. Otherwise, develop your own interests and talents. If your father loves you, he'll support you no matter what you do.

Only if you want to. Find your own path. If that happens to be the same as your fathers, then cool. Don't go into a career just because it happens to be there.

These days no one does that. I think it's truly sad. Families need to stay together better. But on the other hand, if you have real talent elsewhere, will you be wasting it by staying put? I think you will have to decide.

Why not? It was good enough for him, wasn't it? It fed you and put clothes on your back and a roof over your head. You can at least try if for his sake. I'm sure it would make him proud.
