Although it's frowned upon for a fast food restaurant to not make their employees wear gloves, it's not actually a legal requirement. The only thing that may put your mind at rest, is that there are plenty of health and safety regualtions to do with hand washing, and each employee is told to wash their hands hourly, or after every task! Hope this helped :)

Why is everyone so obsessed with the latex these days??? If a fast food worker (or anyone else for that matter) washes their hands properly, there is no need to have your hands wrapped in rubber all day. Do you have any idea how uncomfortable that is, or what happens to all those gloves - Landfill!
When I was growing up - I'm 38 - no food workers wore gloves and there were sinks for them to wash up in. I still don't like the flavour of latex on my sub, thank you very much. Find something more important to worry about!!!!!

Gloves are only effective if they're changed regularly. You can have just as many germs on gloves as on skin. What bothers me is someone at a fair or some such event who handles money and then the food. I refuse to take food from anybody who also takes money. Cash is the filthiest thing around. If somebody has broken skin or sores on their hands, however, they should be required to wear gloves.

Yes,all fast-food employees Should wear gloves.
I know what you mean,I've been in a fast-food,and
noticed some employees didn't have gloves.I was really hungry or I would've left.( But....I didn't go back!)
Actually, you could call the "food and drug administration"
and report the stores you are talking about.
I thought "health regulations" were already in effect.I know
they are in North Carolina. And if they ( the stores) are found to be in violation, they are given stiff fines.After,1 or 2 times,if they don't comply, the state has the right to shut them down.

Not all states require gloves to be worn. However, I think it should be the policy of all restaurants to wear gloves (and make the employees change them often). I manage a quick serve restaurant and I am always on my employees to change their gloves. No one wants their food touched with bare hands! Email corporate and ask them what is up when you see it!

That's really dumb, just because the gloves are on, it doesn't mean that they are clean. What if I put on gloves and popped a boil on my butt? Well, thank god I had gloves on, so now when I handle your food with the same gloves on, you'd have nothing to worry about? I'd rather see employees wash their hands.

I most certainly agree. The grossest thing I've ever seen was a fast food employee coming in to the washroom while I was in there. I washed my hands. They didn't. I went home to eat that day. Plus I cringe when I see them handling all that germy money and then handling the food. YUCK!!! I don't know what can be done about it. Maybe write letters to the heads of these corporations?

Yes they should. I worked at Rally's hamburgers and wearing gloves was and is a requirement as well as hairnets.
