that they felt the same for you...that there was a mutual attraction ? Then later you are told by them that you must have misunderstood their friendliness for something more ? Have you ever been so sure that someone liked you too and found yourself feeling like a fool and like you imagined the whole thing ? Is it just plain vanity or arrogance to assume someone likes you...I mean we have to have some self-confidence out there in the world...
If you have, please share your experiences with me so I'll not feel like the only fool out there in the world. Thanks

No you are not the only one. I have had the exact same thing happen and I felt foolish too. You get over it and move on but that doesn't make the hurt go away now. Just know that you did nothing wrong it was just a missunderstanding and if he really is a nice guy he will understand that and not hold it against you. If he does hold it against you well then he wasn't so wonderful after all.

That has happened to me, but it's not vanity or arrogance. Maybe he did like you, but just as friends, or maybe he's not very good with committment in general; or maybe there was someone better out there for you. As William Shakespeare said, "A fool thinks he is wise, and a wise man knows himself a fool." (meaning, we all learn from experience.)
