1) (2/5)x < 4/25
Divide both sides by 2/5
Dividing by 2/5 is the same as multiplying by 5/2
(5/2)(2/5)x < (5/2)(4/25)
x < 2/5

2) -x > -2/3
Multiply both sides by -1
When you multiply an inequality by a negative number, you have to flip the inequality sign.
(-1)(-x) < (-1)(-2/3)
x < 2/3

Nope. You got 5 to 25 by doing what? 5 x 5. So what you must do it times 2 by 5. 2 x 5 =10.

Therefore, 2/5 > 4/25.

what happens when you divide 5x by 5 and 25 by 5? (x=5)
Is that supposed to be "less than?"

first i would divide 2/5 and 4/25 and you get
0.4x < 0.16
then divide both sides by 0.4
and you get x < 0.4
that is your answer

hint: 0.4x/0.4 = x
0.16 / 0.4 = 0.4
