France has a great chance of advancing still.
First, look at the group they are in:

Group G:
Korea-4 points
Switzerland-4 points
France-2 points
Togo-0 point

To advance you must be one of the top two teams in your group with the most points. It is almost guaranteed they they will beat Togo, so for every win you get 3 points, they will end up with 5 points. They will have to win. And then they will hope to see Korea beat Switzerland or vice-versa. If this happens they will advance as the second team in their group since the loser between KOR-SUI won't get any points. IF KOR-SUI tie, they will end up each with 5 points, as well as France. In this case, the tiebreaker comes down to Goal Differential (the amount of goals your team scored subtracted by the amount of goals that were scored on them), If Korea and Switzerland tie, their goal differntials will be +1 and +2, respectively. France would have to win by two, to get to a GD of +2, since they tied their first two games to advance with Switzerland, even if they only win by 1, the will be tied with Korea, and other tie breakers will come into account that are numerous, but France has a great chance of advancing and I expect them to do so.

Yes, if switzerland beats Korea or visa versa, then one of those teams will have one lose. France needs to beat Toga. If they beat them by two goals or more the better. So let's say Korea beats Switzerland. That country would be 1 win against Toga, I tie against France, and I lose to Korea. If France beat Toga, that would mean they have one win, one tie with Korea, one tie with Switzerland. If Swiss and Korea tie, then France needs to beat Toga by three goals, I think, I don't thik two goals would get them to the next round.

And in response to the knucklehead who said France haven't won a war, what about the American Revolution, it was the French that won that, since half of the troops during the revolution were French. If it wasn't for General Lafayette capturing the English Commander in Chief Cornwallis In Virginia, Americans now would be still sipping tea at three p.m.

Yes they do:

1) they will have to beat Togo and that will give them 5 pts
2) They can finish second if Korea and Switzerland ends a draw and France beat Togo 3-0
3) If Korea beat the Swiss or the Swiss beat Korea and France beat Togo
4) All together France needs to beat Togo and either Korea or Swiss lose or tie.

I am a fan of the French team and i believe they will end up second in their group if they beat togo and play Spain in the second phase.

France first has to win if they want any chance.

Then the
-Swiss beat Korea, France passes
-Koreans beat Swiss, France passes

If the Swiss ties wit Korea
-France will need to win by 2 goals so Koreans will be left out

So for a sure pass they need score as many goals as possible which they are having trouble doing.

I think so. Here's the table as of now

Switzerland 4 points (1 win, 1 draw)
Korea 4 pts (1 win, 1 draw)
France 2 pts (2 draws)
Togo - out

France will play Switzerland and they will likely win (I hope..)
If Switzerland and Korea tie, France is out. If one team wins and France wins vs Togo, it is in the next round.

of course not they haven't even scored 3 goals since the end of 1998. also they're record is 0 win 0 loss and 2 ties and that's why France has no way of making it.
