do you really listen for the depth of a song, or do you just like it for the beat?

i could go on forever. I love lyrics. I really like nirvana cause its deep and you know its true... well because he died. But I also like any lyrics about break ups. not the I hate you songs but the songs about the break ups cause I've been through it. it shows that others feel the exact same way.

Glycerine - Bush *** about a relationship that will never work *** I dont want this remember that I'll never forget where your at

The Tide *** Heaven's not a place that you go when you die, its that moment in life when you actually feel alive.

paper thin hymn - Anberlin **** I just want one more chance, to put my arms in fragile hands, i thought you said forever over and over.

I like songs that tend to actually mean something. I listen to a lot of rock and metal and most people think it's just "noise" but it isn't. Rockers actually have a story to tell when their singing their music. And it's not all about the same thing. Like drugs, women, money, and violence like rap is all about. When I want to just hear a good beat I'll maybe turn on a rap song or something. That's the only thing it's good for.

Well, in order for the lyrics to get their meaning accross, the music has to grab you, otherwise you won't bother listening. If it's only about the lyrics, then it might aswel be poetry.

Does anyone care about them? I certainly do. Music is a form of communication. If it doesn't have anything to say (regardless of what that might be... each to their own and such) then it's just fluffy, redundant drivel.

I always listen to the words. That is what gives the whole song its vibe. If the words are stupid I really don't want to listen to it. Whatever you listen to it is getting deep into your mind whether you know it or not. So you are always being affected by what you hear.

No one has time to listen to the lyrics and think what they mean.

i listen to the lyrics. Just because rap music might have a good beat (wich it doesn't) Its inaproriate and degrading. I love rock music especially emo because it reflects true feelings.

I prefer the lyrics, as they tend to tell the true story.
