Does anyone else think that these are the sides in the "browser wars"?

Well, the fact that Firefox is sort of partnered with Google doesn't mean that IE is partnered with Yahoo!

Maybe Microsoft partnered with Yahoo!, but in only one product, being the messenger service, where Yahoo! Messenger users and MSN Messenger users shall be able to communicate together regardless to the Messenger used. Thats why both messengers are still in Beta:
- Yahoo! Messenger with Voice Beta (version 8);
- Windows Live! Messenger 8.0 Beta.

Concerning some sites that are not cross-platform, I primarily use Firefox, but have IE 7 Beta and Opera 9.0 Beta installed!!

For those who don't want to change from Firefox to IE but want to view the sites that are designed for IE only, simply install the latest IE (to have a widest possible website support), then install the IE-Firefox extension, which basically uses the IE Active-X in Firefox to view IE-based websites in Firefox.

The extension is available on the following link:
Through Firefox Addons pages:
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1419/
IE-Tab Projects homepage:

Google and Yahoo are search engines that can work with either. There is now war, Google already won.

Firefox and Internet Explorer or both awesome browsers. But Microsoft gave us the wonderful gift in ActiveX. Many websites simply will not work with anything but Internet Explorer, so when it is necessary, use IE.

FireFox is awesome. I use it primarilly for surfing and searching google. If a bad website comes up, FireFox is likely to be immune to any ill effects. But if the website is clearly Internet Explorer ready ONLY, then I will switch to IE to use that page.

google and yahoo have not teamed up with a particular browser you can use whatever browser and search engine you want personally I like yahoo but google is good but i prefer firefox over IE because it is better at protecting against spyware

No, your no longer doing something incorrect, you in user-friendly terms must be linked to a sturdy community, which isn't firefox. or internet explorer. the main suitable is safari, on a mac. i exploit one. this internet site basically loaded in 2 seconds, (I counted) Get a Mac!
