It was Made in European Community (EC). Which is the old name for the European Union (EU). This should mean that the lamp is at least a decade old as the official founding date of the EU was November 1st, 1993.

The European Union (EU) today is a union of 25 independent states based on the European Communities and founded to enhance political, economic and social co-operation. Formerly known as European Community (EC) or European Economic Community (EEC).
