You need to bind off. This can change depending on how you knit it. But essentially, you knit two, then take the loop further on the right hand needle and pull it over the other one and off the needle, knit 1 again, now you have two loops on the right hand needle again, so you pull the farther loop over the other one and drop it off the needle; repeat that until the very last one and then pull the yarn through so it won't run.
"bind off" and "knit" should get you quite a few knitting sites on goodle

It's called binding off. There are a number of different ways to do it, but the basic bind off is done by working 2 stitches, then passing the rightmost stitch on your right needle over the stitch to the left of it.

go to this site... it has instructions and a picture on how to bind off.... You need to do this kind of loosely or you will pucker your knitting..... especially if you bind off tightly...
