My baby's eyes are dark blue right now, but I've been told that they change color later on. How long did it take your baby's eye color to change?

Babies eyes are likely to change color several times in the first few months of life. Usually around 8-9 months they stay the same color they're going to be for life. That is unless they're hazel - then they can "change" depending on what color you wear. They don't really change, it's just the color you're wearing will bring out a similar hue from your eyes

By 6 months the color you see is likely permanent. It may change shade some, but it isn't likely to change color. My guys have blue eyes now at 7 months, but it is a different shade then when they were first born. If your baby has blue eyes at 6 months, it is very likely it would switch to green or brown, but it may change shade a bit by lightening, darkening, or looking a bit more hazel.

Both of my boys' eyes stayed blue (And I SO wanted a brown hair/brown eyed baby, dang it!!). They did lighten a bit...my older son has beautiful eyes...they're so light, they're almost as light as a husky's (dog's) eyes. That started changing at about 5 or 6 months. My younger son's eyes are considerably lighter than they were at birth, but not as light as his brother's. They started changing at about the same time...5 months or so.

Most of my kids have blue eyes (and I don't remember when my one brown-eyed one's eyes changed). I do have a child whose eyes changed from blue to gray-ish/green-ish when he was a teenager. And my sister's eyes changed from blue to brown when she was over a year old.

Generally speaking, a child's eyes are their permanent color by age 6 months and almost always by age 1. Some are a little later. And they can change between blue, green, and gray (all variants of the same gene) at almost any age.

My baby's eyes are still blue and he is 7 months old. Eye colour can still change up to a year, but in most cases, if the colour has not changed by about 6 months, it is likely to remain whatever colour it is.

I am mexican w/ the darkest blue eyes you've ever seen, and my son has the brightest blue eyes on the earth... They went from blue grey to bright blue. Everyone tells me that it can take up to two years, but I don't think there's a chance in the world that his eyes are going to change. The recessive gene has dominated! :) Hope I helped ya out a little.

Pigmentation of the iris may continue increasing the first year of life, the depth of color may not be evident until around the baby;s first birthday

I had Blue eyes until I was about 5 then they turned gray. When I was about 14 the turned hazel. Now they change from blue to green whenever.
