I'm not going to read every answer, but I saw one fairly close to the start that I'll reply to.

How small-minded of you to believe that:
(a) Our planet is the only one with the 'correct temperature', out of the billions and billions of planets that exist in the Universe.
(b) That our Earthbound forms of life are the only ones that could possibly exist.

In short, it's more likely that I am the reincarnation of Jesus and Bruce Lee combined, than it is that no other planet has life.

People really don't understand just how grand and diverse our own galaxy is, let alone the millions of others in the smegging Universe. Get over your own sense of self-importance already.

The size of the universe, which is beyond all possible comprehension, means that even though most of space is deadly and uninhabitable, with the vast majority of planets far too hostile to support life, if only 0.000000001% of all planets have anything approaching the conditions for life that we enjoy on Earth, it would still amount to billions of planets. With water, stable temperatures, a large moon (to stop the planet spinning off-kilter) and a large gas giant like Jupiter farther out in the solar system (to catch stray asteroids and comets that might smash into the planet), life stands a chance of evolving. Even if that life was only bacterial, it would be alien life. It is possible that the conditions on a handful of those planets would enable complex life forms to evolve, and it is remotely possible even that intelligent life evolved - even civilizations.

However, the collossal size of the universe I mentioned at the beginning also means that it is very unlikely that any other planets with life on, let alone intelligent life, would be close enough to each other to make themselves known to each other. It is also quite likely that civilizations existed elsewhere a hundred million years ago but have since died, or they will exist in millions of years to come. For planetary life-forms (including our own) to contact each other they not only have to exist close to each other, they have to exist at the same point in time - a very remote possibility. The Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence (SETI) has not traced a single identifiable radio wave from any region of the sky despite millions of hours of computer processing scanning every possible signal. If there is intelligent life out there, it is too far away for its existence to be known to us.

So the short answer is, aliens probably do (or did, or will,) exist. But we will probably never make contact with them. So we are also alone.

If aliens, or extraterrestrials to use a fancy sciency word, don't exist, then Space is an awful waste of - well - space. I like ceasefear's idea of God being an ET -- it's very similar to the ideas portrayed in Stargate, although the writers weren't brave enough to say it out loud. X Files had the 'god is an astronaut' thing in the latter seasons.

Yes, (I believe that) ET does exist and I suppose, like First Contact (Star Trek), they may be waiting for us to make a huge technological leap, e.g. warp travel.

I believe in the supernatural and that when people pass away
they still communicate with the living in one way or another. I think
there is good and evil out there and things that can't be explained
away. But , I do not think there are any aliens on the planets
that we are aware of. But, there are many systems out there
who knows. Possibly.

The existence of so many solar systems in the Galaxies gives us hope that we are not alone in this universe. There are thousands of Suns and Earths also may be there with human beings or other forms of life.Old Testament,The Bible,Hindu Vedas etc refers to man/woman from other worlds.According to Hindu scriptures there are 14 worlds out side our earth where there are different forms of life similar to human beings. They are called Yakshas,Kinnararas.Gandharvas,Kimpurusha etc .But there is no proof so far.Undeciferable electomagnetic signals/waves are detected by scientists.
There is a theory that man itself came from elsewhere, when conditions were unsuitable for life there. So many dead Suns, black holes etc may be proof of this theory.Man is totally different from all other forms of life on earth. No body knows the truth.

The Fermi Paradox drops a hint, in such a large universe with so many star systems, that aliens may well do exist, yet we are unaware of their existence.

I firmly believe in the "zoo hypothesis" that we are watched as a planetary soap opera much to their amusements, simply because they have been there, done that, and now they have nothing better to do than watch our TV, and surf our internet.

While aliens do not exist, we are not alone.

The bible speaks of spiritual creatures that reside in the heavens, perhaps outer space or even further. So God, and all his angelic creatures look over us, and take note of what we see and do.

Also, there are demonic forces, which many times transform themselves into alien-looking like creatures and equippment. The devil gets the kick out of making people think that there is a rare and mysterious life beyond our reach.

Yet, if you read your bible and understand the God is one of love, then it is clear to see that alien life is all a hoax.

Do you think that in all the stars you see at night, plus all the ones you don't see cause they are too far away for the naked eye, billions of stars - what are the odds that there isn't another star with a planet somewhat like Earth that doesn't have life? For that matter, what are the odds of another planet not having life even if it were not like Earth. We are a carbon based organism. There may be silicone based organisms.

aliens dont exist, and we are alone. Earth is the only planet which has an average temperature of 13.5 degree celcius which is fit for humans to live. No other planet is livable.

Earth is the only livable planet because every living organism needs water, and Earth has the only decent water. Therefore, aliens are a crazy myth started by some poor hobo who got too drunk in his time.

The truth is out there, we are not alone at all, there may not be martians on mars, but there is too much space out there for us to be the only ones out here. Pretty empty space if it is just us.
