I clean our toliet everyday but somehow a red stain has developed along the bottom. I don't know where it came from and I've tried soaking it in cleaner and using toliet bowl cleaner but nothing works, any ideas?

I think my brother has a habit of leaving the seat up at times (and the lights too) but the problem is its not old and I clean it well...

Maybe you should just buy a new toilet seat. They are between $10-$20 and they are easy to put on. Might be easier than spending alot of time and money trying to clean this stain off the seat. If you really want to clean it though, try a pumice stone. My boyfriend had a toilet in the basement of the house he moved into and it was stained really bad. He bought a pumice stone and it took off all the stains. It looked brand new.

dissolve 2 to 3 scoops of oxi-clean in a bucket of HOT water, slowly pour into the toilet. Once in the toilet add bleach, it will foam up, so make sure you keep your face away and don't imhale the fumes. Let sit for about an hour.

Is it possible that the toilet seat was painted white on top of a red undercoat? If not, then its probably rust. Try bleach or a rust-remover.

Could be rust if it's old - try getting something like CLR to get rid of it.
