Have any of you realized that MANY of the questions being asked on Yahoo! Answers are from students wanting someone *else* to do their homework for them?

Guess which teacher is going to head straight to Yahoo! Answers next school year when she gives a research assignment to bust some cheaters in the act! :) haha...where was the Internet when I was in high school? Oh yeah, Al Gore hadn't invented it yet.

My question is in fun - lighten up!

Yeah, I notice some kids doing that, it's kinda funny because it's so obvious :)

Yeah, what's new? Kids have been cheating since teachers began giving tests. Do you make the kids put their electronic devices away, and make sure they are not hiding them on their laps? Do you make them take their hats off? Do you check their shoes? Do you check their drink and food bottles? I saw a report that the kids could edit a PDF document online with a "cheat sheet", but it was printed to look like a coke can label. Then they simply print it out and glue it onto a can of soda. Some kids spend more time and money just trying to not learn the material, where if they spent that time actually studying, they would actually learn!

With regards to homework questions here: they will get the answers somewhere anyways, that is why I give very little weight to hw assignments. Most of my grade in math class comes from quizzes, tests, and projects.

Yeah, I think if they want help only get the help through emails and not on here where you will be busted. You can ask the question and then have people to tag in the answer spot with their emails. I really don't know how you would do it, just don't get busted. Teachers are all for busting and failing kids in school.

I know the kids are on here lookiing for someone to do their homework for them. Some just write out the assignment word for word - alot of people tell them to do their own homework.

But I figure if the student really is cheating, the teacher is going to find out. Just give a test over the material or a pop quiz and see who actually read the assignment.

Or if its math, ask them to explain the steps and why they are doing them. The kids that are doing their own work will be able to explain it.

Ha ha. Yeah, where've you been. There's even a category called Homework Help. As to whether the answers kids get on here are correct or not...well, depends who's online to answer.
