Scientist Claims Proof Of Afterlife
CLEVELAND -- What happens after we die -- do we continue on or is this life the end? Many of us hope there is an afterlife, and now some Arizona scientists say they have proof through their afterlife experiments.
There are many people who say they have died and come back to life. They claim to have experienced an afterlife, even if for only a short time.
Scientists at The University of Arizona have done extensive research, and say that they have the proof that when we die we continue to live beyond our physical bodies.
"Almost anyone who sees the data says there's something real here," said one of the researchers.

No one knows for sure, because no one has died (at least not beyond the point of resuscitation) and returned to tell the story.
However, it is interesting to note that many people who have come very close to death (e.g. their hearts stopped, no brain activity, etc.) have reported experiencing what seemed to them to be leaving their physical bodies, floating up towards the ceiling, entering a tunnel, and eventually meeting a "being of light", that some of them identified as God. While these experiences differ in details, the general outline seems to be the same, regardless of the person's religious belief (or lack of same). There have been similar incidents recorded in past history as well. These experiences may be genuine, and may reflect what happens to us when our soul leaves our body at death.
There are those believe that these experiences can be explained away through natural processes. Some say they are just dreams, yet those who have these experiences insist they are not anything like dreams. Some say they are the result of drugs administered to the dying, but the experiences have happened without drugs. Some say they are hallucinations, but they seem to be too oddly similar to be random hallucinations. Some believe they are simply the body's reaction to brain death, yet similar experiences have happened occasionally to people in very dangerous situations where there was no actual bodily harm. So the experiences remain a mystery, as does the afterlife.
Interestingly enough, though, those who have had these experiences emerge changed - they no longer fear death. In fact, some seem to almost look forward to it (although they are not suicidal), since they report that it is an extremely pleasant experience, one of total peace and unconditional love. Their values also tend to change, so that they begin to value the minds & the heart more than their physical condition.

Yes, I believe that there is an afterlife. I've had a near death experience, and I guess you can say I 'saw the light'. After this experience I have become more spiritual and it makes sense to me that we're not in control that there is a higher power and that there is an afterlife.

NO!!!! There is no afterlife. Anybody with common sense would know that once you die, you would rather come back as yourself or a better person than be recreated in the form of an animal or anything senseless or non-living, like a plant.

Yes, I belive there is. As my mother was passing away, and she was in between here and there. She was describing the beautiful things she was seeing. I guess it's a personal belief for each of us, But I believe very much in an afterlife, and in Heaven and Jeusus, and the Lord God Almighty.

this depends on your belief. Some people go through life claiming they have memories of things they have never even done. Some have dreams with the same issue, they are in another place and another time. For me, I can't tell you if there is one or not. No amount of research will prove or disprove simply because there are answers supporting both. This is definetly something you have look into yourself for and see what you really think and really feel. Sometimes our best answer is our own judgement.

Sure there is. Even if you don't believe in God , there is death, and that would be after life. Believing in God, I look forward to a life in Heaven with Him after my human body dies.
