I had a girl about 1/2 my age call me "honey", and smile at me at a Quizno's Sub Shop a few weeks ago, and I was stunned. Of course, I really didn't take her too seriously. Should I have? Nah!

Employees in public relations jobs who are female act and are expected to act [and I mean act okay] like they like you as a man. This bizarre behavior is not visa versa. Most men kind of like it and it reinforces our ego. However if our egos are a bit damaged it is easy to take the woman seriously if they are about our age. If the woman is young enough to be your daughter or old enough to be your mother then you get the creeps. Either way it is troublesome. Take my barber for instance. I go to a female beauty parlor instead of the barber shop. . .why? Because I know that that 38DD is going to ask me if she wants to WASH my hair. You KNOW what my answer will be. Is she serious about me? Hell no! That is just the crap she does for a living. That's like going to a strip club. I mean your first thoughts are, "Holy Crap! A Naked Woman! I wonder if she will go home with me?" Hell no! That is just the crap she does for a living. I know when I go to the diner that, "Doris" is going to stroll by smacking her two day old gum, pull her pen from her bleach blonde teased hair rolling her eyes around and ask crudely, "So honey, what's your pleasure, what can I get for you today? Something hot?" I know she is just doing that for a living.

No, some people are just really friendly and call everyone hun. Don't look too far into someone just being nice to you.
