Theurgy uses the power of the divine
Necromancy usually used to communicate with the dead
Thaumaturgy is ecstatic energy raising usually for healing
Ledgerdemain which is like slight of hand or more akin to stage magic but still utilzed by occultists to gain a certian effect (like muhammad putting birdseed in his ears so that it looked like the birds were whispering to him)
Sympathetic Magic where like effects like, voodoo dolls, poppets, other effegies such as drawings, pictures etc etc..it requires a personal effect for the person you wish to affect, for example blood, hair, swea,t fingernail clippings, belly button lint etc...
Ritual or ceremonial magic which requires alot of tools & pomp & ceremony
Divination is a method for telling past present & future events
Then there is sorcery which is a pragmatic magic that is more like a direct give & take...
those are all that i can think of off hand, but magic is not color coded, magic is energy directed to achieve a goal or purpose...
Magic can be spelled with a "k" but it is not necessary, Aliester Crowley added the "k" to magic to delineate it from prestidigitation & other "stage magics" but i am not a Thelemite, so i do not add the k, the context is obvious, so the "k" is superfluous

Sympathetic magic- directing magic at something that represents something else, voodoo dolls, candle magic, etc.
Astral Magic- Used by Shamans who travel the astral plane and/or communicate with spirits
Invocation and Evocation- I confuse these, one is channelling a spirit of Godform into yourself and using their power through your body, the other is requesting the presence of a God or spirit and asking assistance nicely, often through prayer and offerings.
Ceremonial magic- the calling and commanding of spirits. Usually not very nicely.
Environmental magic- using the natural spiritual energy eminated by various objects to cause an effect, like stones, crystals, symbols, colors, aromatherapy, etc.
Necromancy- imprisoning and controlling the souls of the dead. Not recommended.
Conjuring- Creating spirit forms from your own spiritual self.
Black magic and white magic are subjective terms.

lot of different magicks. there is magick of the dead called necromancy and it works in wierd ways best done in graveyards
there is houdon which is the common form of voo doo
there is high magick and that is very very intense i would suggest you look up the golder dawn to find out more about that.
then normal witchcraft which is natrual magick. and there are a lot of things that work in natural magick. gem and rocks. each mineral and espically precious stones and even more so the quartzs do well to add power. doing a spell during a power time of a star or planet is a magick. candle colors can make a magick
you are only really limited by the symbols you can come up with and use. so its really unlimited. if you have any specific questions let me know.

different magic? there is no different magics about, magic is magic. End of story.
No rainbow brite collage of karate kid belts to attain in trying to understand it all, if you want rainbows join the gay and lesbian movement.
There are different ways of using magic (ie, called different traditions) but all in all, you are still using the same "magic".
Head to your local mall and look in the bookshop section, there is bound to be a New Age section (I hate that they are always in the new age sections) read a few things. I can't stress enough the importance of understanding what you are doing, and doing it because you understand it...not because it is the coolest new fad in your area.

Basically, there is only One. But that one source can be split into two basic forms-Good and Bad.
There are, however, MANY different variations on those two themes, depending on culture, experience and ancestry, I suppose.(assuming you aren't speaking of 'Cantrips' of course, ie:Illusions!)
If you're looking to fcuk around with Magic, try Enochian Magic-(Dimensional, Entity contact) that will give you an idea of how many years it will take you to actually learn to do something real, as apposed to 'Sympathetic Magic.'
Good luck.
(Have you ever heard of the 'Three Trials'? You might want to know about that before you play with the real McCoy)

All the only good answer is read about it for yourself. I will tell you though, there is only one type of Magick... It is not a spirit. It is not a symbol. It is not the Earth. It is only contained into two words, and is only responsive to how, what ,why, and when it is used. The word being ( Metaphysical Force)... Do some research of your own to understand it in your own perspective. To all people it has its own meanings. I hope that I was of some help to you in your journey...Blessed Be

I think it's hilarious how people who don't really know the arts of magiks( and by the way, that is the correct spelling) always call black magik, bad magik, read a real book on magiks and not some borders easy read. Black magik is spiritual and without it there would be a huge unbalance in the world.

There is no such thing as magic. It is just idiotic superstition
unless you are talking about something like slight-of-hand, for example. Then it is just an illusion of course.
