Pistol Pete was one of the most exciting players to ever play in the NBA. He was probably one of the greatest shooters of all time (he could shoot from anywhere), and a terrific ballhandler.
But unfortunately, he was years ahead of his time. He was not a great team player, and many teammates considered him a ball hog. He was though, indeed fun to watch.
