Well don't start too young like 1 or 2 years of age find a good dance school and check the age groups, if she fits then enroll her! that's what my aunt did to my little cousin and it was the best thing for her because she was active, flexible, and made a lot of good friends! Dance has very good social qualities! i hoped i helped!

Well that's really up to the girl to decide if she wants to pursue a career as a dancer. They start dance classes as soon as the kids start to walk (with Mommy)...but most serious dance schools won't start teaching classical ballet until child is at least 6.

i started at three and i am a very good dancer and i absolutely Love it. it helps when you are younger because you are more flexible and you can learn to make more friends before even going to school it really good for you. so start young. i can brag that i have been dancing longer than all the other girls in my class too. i think 2 or 3 is good for them. i love it . 1 is to young duh!!!i can do splits thanks to starting early

I wanted my daughter to dance also; unfortunately she didn't want to and was not coordinated. First, she didn't want to. She wanted to do gymnastics (see not coordinated), but that's where we put her (at age 5) and where she was happy. We went every week and supported her, even though she wasn't very good (but she was graceful - very tall!!) and to every recital and loved every minute of it. She's now 13, 5'8", out of gymnastics and as happy as a clam. Stop focusing on what your ideal little girl is or will be and just wait for her to arrive and develop and grow with her - not force her.

Maybe you should let your daughter decide when she is old enough. Did you want to be a dancer? Are you trying to live your childhood through your children. Dont push children. Let them be kids! If she wants to do it then go for it. There is no reason to make a child what you want them to be. It is unfair to them.

the younger is better. she can become more flexable. i'd say about 2-3 years old might be too young to start. its really regarding if she feels ready or not. its best if she one of her best interests are dancing, it makes all the worth.
