i hate babies, my wife had a hysterectomy and is upset cos she cant have babies, but im throwing parties cos i think babies smell and are too noisy when they cry, i cringe when i hear them cry.

No you're not strange.
Not EVERYONE has that instinct for wanting a child.
Your wife is upset as she probably doesn't feel much of a women now her 'bits' have gone and the thing about society is that it states that it is a women's place to have kids, when in fact it isn't really. Not in today's day and age.
I mean why have kids, if not only to carry on your name.
Not every women have the 'BABY' instinct and I would think the same goes for men too.
Console your wife as she is probably in a bad place emotionally at this time. Think of it as you having your testicles removed (leaving the empty sacks behind) and not being able to 'shoot the juice' as they say. Same kinda thing with having a hysterectomy.

No, you are definitely not strange - check out Kidding Aside, the Childfree Association - there are many of us out there! Besides why should you feel the need to have children, there are already enough children to ensure the continuation of the species and this planet is over-populated as it is. I, as a woman, have real trouble getting people to accept that my decision not to have children is a permanent one and that I will not ever change my mind. Be sympathetic to your wife if she is obviously upset, but there is nothing wrong with feeling pleased, just don't rub her face in it.

not everybody likes or wants babies. thats just the way u are but u should be alot more sensitive towards your wife. its very hard to learn that u cannot have children, especially for women as most are born with a maternal instinct. she doesnt need u throwing parties, she needs support. i suggest she goes and has councelling. u need to realize that this is very serious for her. give the poor woman some comfort.

nah your not strange , there are a lot of people out there that dont like babies and why would you want to have 1 when you feel the way you do , feel sorry for your wife though as thats something the majority of women wish for, having parties is bad though

Babies might be annoying but thats just for a few years. I mean now you'll never have the chance to see your kid play sports, do band, be in a play stuff like that. If your not gonna have kids whats the point of getting married. And don't you wish you could have a kid to name after yourself.

Your unusual but then again often people dont want babies until they have their own. Someday hold a brother or sisters baby and see how you feel. Tell your wife nicely how you feel in a way that will make her understand that it does not matter to you that she cant have kids.

well i would have to say don't have a kid if you don't want one. I find babies to be especially annoying but that does not stop me from wanting a family when i am old enough. just support you wife to the best of your ability and try to watch what you say around her. (p.s. try to act a little more mature about infants especially around you wife, if i a 14 year old can be then i am positive you can also)

you are just a guy. Men do not usually have the maternal instincts us women do that DRIVE us to desire a baby, even when they are tough. Most men really don't get fired up about fatherhood until their baby can begin interacting with them. My husband really didnt think he'd ever want kids, but now he LOVES our little girl. Though, he still wasnt fired up until the last few months (she is 5 months now). he is so glad we had her, but I think he may not have had kids at all if it werent for my strong desire for a baby.

ummm strange no but a litlle insensative yes. knowing that you can never carry a child is devestating to a woman and your not thinking about her feelings. you should check into adoption there are alot of kids not babies in foster care who need good homes.

I feel so sorry for your wife. I really cannot think of words to describe you. If you don't want kid's fine but don't take pleasure out of her sadness. You must be a really cruel person
