They don't do it on purpose. It is just hard to get rid of them. The problem mainly has to do with Yahoo!'s registration process. It uses a weak implementation of CAPTCHA and does little to stop automated registration of user accounts. 'Till they get a better handle on this there will be lots of botting going on in the Yahoo! chat rooms.

As far as I can tell yahoo chat rooms aren't as regulated as others, no mods.

I know the bots are way too much sometimes, you block and there are more, part of the reason i don't go to them anymore, the bots and the bashers.

I have no clue but it has deterred my chatting on the site. I can't handle striking a conversation that is scripted like a person responding (makes me feel silly and stupid). One bot made me talk for 15 minutes!lol
