Referring to my other question on ....pride.. what's the problem, a guy said that using certain terminology was just a 'comment'.

I tried to make myself clear in that question that comments like the example I used were detrimental to CHILDREN. Of course us adults know the difference but children don't and it DOES have an affect.

I'm not just making this up btw. Some mental health studies have proven this over the past 15 years.

I'm actually very serious. Why don't some ppl just get it when we try to articulately explain the reasons for objecting? I mean we try as nicely as we can to explain that there are proven reasons but they still just don't get it.

LOL I just don't get this.....

Heh, love how you end you "why can't people get it" question by stating you just don't get it.

Just because you believe something should be a certain way doesn't mean others will feel the same way. If they believe opposite enough it doesn't matter how articulate you are because they just won't care. Not everyone will agree and not everyone will respond intelligently, this is just a simple fact of life.

I didn't read you other question, but there is scientific evidence on both sides of every issue. Some of that science is better than others, and in all cases where it is taken from objective science to justification for policy it is twisted along the way by pundits & politicians on the side trying to benefit from it. Science is useful to a certain extent, as is religion, philosophy, diplomacy, etc but none make policy while all are used & twisted to justify other ends. When you are asking why no one "GETS IT" are you sure you're listening with an open mind & understanding reality is perception rather than fact.

Hopefully, you aren't raising your child to be as hypersensitive as you are and then the comment won't have such an effect on them.

Not to mention, was he talking to YOU or to your CHILD?
