No, Wells, Halladay and Rios are just entering their prime years. Ortiz and Schilling still have some good years left but they are old.

Also why trade Wells, Halladay and Rios those are the guys that you build your team around. Oh and Glaus has playoff experience, he was the World Series MVP.

You must be a Red Sox fan... If they pulled this off it would make everbody forget that Babe Ruth was once traded from the Red Sox to the Yankees... Halladay is better, younger and healthier than Schilling, and Wells, Glaus and Rios as a whole are worth way more than David Ortiz, who doesn't even play defense most of the season...

It's virtually impossible- and whoever said the Red Sox aren't that dumb- think again, because the Blue Jays would be the idiots to let this deal happen.. we're talking about 2 guys hitting over .300 with over 10 hr's and troy glaus who has 17 along with Halladay, a great young pitcher.. for an aging ace with maybe 2-3 years left in the tank and the most clutch hitter in the game, but nonetheless a DH at best. you're dumb for thinking the Sox would be losing out

There is no way that would go down. Halladay, as impressive as he is, has no postseason experience and is frequently hurt. Rios, Glaus and Wells are impressive but there is no where for them to work in that lineup. Plus Ortiz is the most clutch player living and Schilling led us to the promise land on a bum foot. No way in hell.

Without any more details, the Wells/Halladay/Glaus/Rios side of the deal makes out. But it all depends on the rest of the teams....

(I'm assuming it's Vernon Wells & not David Wells, right??? David Ortiz & not Russ Ortiz or Ramon Ortiz, right???)

Edit - Oh sorry... It was such a ridiculous trade that I thought we were talking about fantasy baseball.....

NEVER!! Red Sox Nation would never allow Big Papi to be traded away, nor would they allow a trade for Schilling. Both will be leading the Red Sox to the playoffs and to the World Series win again this year, just as in 2004!!

Besides, who needs Glaus; we have Lowell!! And wells?? We have Coco Crisp!! Come on. Quit jesting!!

Best of luck.

That trade is so lopsided in the Red Sox favor that the Toronto GM should be fired if he is even thinking about this.

Sounds like a Red Sox fan's wet dream.

That will never go....the red sox as it is do not really struggle with that bats...however they are struggling with the bullpen.....Schilling would really only go for like a good starter,2 good prospects and Money.....thats the only way i see this wacky trade happening.
