Faith is believing in something when common sense, "evidence," or others tell you not to.
It can be hard to have faith in something, but many people do. Henry David Thoreau said that "the smallest seed of faith is better than the largest fruit of happiness."
Shades of what Jesus said. Faith the size of a mustard seed can move mountains.
Faith in anything is something that we hold dear. We have faith in the people we love (children, spouse, parents). We have faith that our legs will not snap each time we take a step. We have faith that our heads will not explode by just having a thought.
In any religion, faith is something that is believed in DESPITE what the world says.
"Faith means belief in something concerning which doubt is theoretically possible."--William James.
Ironically, the premise of Evolution is a show of faith. Despite what some "learned" minds say, there are no "laws" of evolution. It is still called a THEORY. It's premise has not been proved in the 150 some odd years it has been circled around. Some scientists have "faith" that it is true, despite being no hard evidence that it is true. no missing link between man and ape or otherwise. The only way we can prove creatures like human evolved from one-celled organisms is if we found a way to artificially make them evolve quickly (and is that possible? no) Some scientists have more faith than the most religious people on the planet.
Take love. Love is a concept that is taken on faith. Some argue that Love is not real, its only a person's reaction to another person's pheromones. Well, how do you explain a person falling for someone over the Internet? From a picture, or through letters via a pen pal? Can pheromones travel through radio waves?
Our human minds cannot fully comprehend life, the universe or anything. It is beyond our capacity. We can theorize, but we will NEVER have evidence for everything. No matter how hard we research and compile.
But personally, my favorite quote is this: “Faith is like electricity. You can't see it, but you can see the light."
Faith is not something that can be tangibly held or seen. But you can see the effect it has on people. See how it brightens them, how it gives shelter from the dark.
There is evidence that the things we have faith in exist. You can see the after effects of them. It's just that sometimes we look over them, seeing them as small and unimportant.
But importantly, having faith means that you do not need evidence. You just "know." I myself believe in God, not because I saw him in person, or talked to him over the phone. I just "know." And my reason cannot be explained. You have faith in nothing, if you NEED evidence.
Faith is only destroyed, when we let it be destroyed.

What, Santa Claus is not real? (sob).
No, we just evaluate things differently as we get older. For instance, some still think Bush is doing a good job despite lack of any evidence. (Yeah, yeah, but he annoyed me again today).
The childlike faith does not go away if you manage NOT to evaluate the evidence. Er, how many entries does Publisher's Clearing House still get? How many people think "New and Improved" on a box means anything?
How many people think professional wrestling is not rigged?
How many people believe stock analysts despite the fact a simple yahoo search shows the company is in deep doo-doo.
We believe things and deny evidence all the time.
Crap, the Easter bunny isn't real either?

There are people that would need more evidence, and fact , if the burning bush landed in their living room during the evening news and spoke all the languages of the world. Those people would still find a logical ,scientific, mathematical equation to explain the unexplainable.
If there is a child within you as an adult, the world could never destroy your child like faith.

I think it is often much easier to believe in things without evidence. Hard evidence in any realm typically challenges the beliefs we already hold.
My first reaction to your mention of impossible but sweet (and selfish) fantasies like the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, and the Tooth Fairy--interesting to put God in this list of mysterious gift-bringers; I hadn't seen that until I copied the list to this message--was that marketing is all about creating belief in the same sort of irrational things for adults.
For example, "Buy this expensive car and supermodels will start throwing themselves at you." Or "Use our toothpaste and suddenly you will look and feel decades younger." Sadly, in this country at least, it seems that as we grow up we don't lose our childlike faith so much as we transfer it to new magical entities like Porsche, Abercrombie & Fitch, or the U.S. government.

I Think It Makes Us know That there is nothing that perfect in that world .. if There is no santa claus you will know that your parents gets you the Gifts from the shop and they pay money for it .. and The eggs hidden in the Garden your parents / friends hid them too... and the bunny wont care for you .. that makes you believe that everything can be done by humans and you dont need a legendary Thing to get you gifts and eggs in the easter ..
God differs .. god = existance .. god is the existance and i do believe that we exist / then god exists too

Blind faith is exactly that: BLIND. That is why your belief in Santa Claus, the Easter bunny, etc were unavailing. They were never tested in any way.
God does not expect us to follow with blind faith. Our faith grows as we act upon faith. We start with a grain of faith which is a hope for something to be true. That hope is a seed that when planted grows as you act and experiment on that grain of faith. If that seed that you planted is a true and good seed, then it will begin to grow in your heart as you exersize faith in whatever the principle or concept is that you are testing. If the seed of hope is based upon a false concept, then that seed will not grow. You can read more about this in Alma Ch 32 from the following website: http://scriptures.lds.org/alma/32

It all depends; how much reason and science do we have. The more science and reason you have, the less your need for a "GOD" is. However, sometimes faith is essential to go on. Yet, faith in general has its own arena where it can be so effective and never affected. While science represents the only objective field where all People can stand and benefit, faith and reason are personal and subjective.

No,it isn't difficult to believe in something without evidence as almost all people believe in something that is intangible. Religious and spiritual beliefs often don't evidencial base, intuition, clairvoyants etc all have acceptance amongst many people. What we need, rather than evidence is confirmation or validation that what we believe in is real. This can come from any source and doesn't have to be evidence, just affirmation.

It does not destroy, nothing can be destroyed in you considering consciousness. We put a lot of effort and labor to change that no need to be changed. Now we have to unlearn everything we was trusting to and learn again to trust our own self, then you will not need to have evidences. You yourself will create evidences, for those who still need it. Yes knowledge is a two edge sword...So-called "knowledge" may create and war and peace. With knowledge we obtained and identified ourselves with , we distant ourselves from child like Faith. But it is always welcome to go back home.

that is an fairly complicated question. Your significant question is per a false impression. God does no longer require us to remember on Him. He needs us to get to understand Him. And we are able to doing so, at the same time as nonetheless residing our latest existence in our latest body. God is a intense high quality or rigidity, the rigidity of love and bestowal. we ought to bare this high quality interior ourselves through replacing our inherent characteristics to the Godly characteristics, and after we income this we get to understand Him by a right away, glaring sensation. yet we ought to do it through our own attempt, by loose will. How would or not that is freedom if He showcased all His fulfillment, and bounty in the front human beings, what loose will would we've, we ought to clearly run in route of Him for the excitement. it truly is why he's hidden, so we search for for Him, and locate Him by exertions, for that reason after we come across Him we develop into such as Him, because we actual re-created each thing God created contained in the first position, and then hid from us. that is the religious direction which finally ends up contained in the revelation of the author and us transforming into extremely Human, such as the author. And we are able to do all this the following and now, we in simple terms ought to choose it. finally there is not any such position as Hell, we are residing in hellish circumstances now, as we are the as faraway from our optimal state as plausible, we are able to't be any below this. i'm hoping it solutions a number of your questions, all the most proper.
