Who really knows what Bush's objective is. We Americans don't even know what is in store for us. I would have the hightest hopes for the son of The Shah to lead the Persians to their unfullfilled dreams.
However, would not like for Bush to get control. Haley Bad

This was the younger son, right, not the Crown Prince? I think Iran's only future lies in reinstalling the Peacock Throne and making the Crown Prince Shah. He lives right across the river from DC, over in Northern Virginia. Back before the Ayatola, back in the days of the old Shah, the Persians/Iranians were good people. Now, THEY knew how to party.

First of all, the Iranians have a right to choose their own leadership, and it is highly doubtful that they will elect the son of the much hated shah to run the country. The shah forced modernization on Iran in such a way as to alienate the Iranian people. He was not an elected leader, but a puppet installed by the CIA, which is why the Ayatollah was eventually able to harness the popular will and return to Iran from exile in Paris.

The rest of the world is largely opposed to the U.S.'s intervention in Iranian affairs, and it is unlikely that we can go it alone, since we've already got so much going on. Ultimately, I think, Iran will get its nuclear program and the Iranian people will be able to choose their own leadership, fundamentalist or otherwise.
