brainless bandit says "not gonna happen. tobacco is too big of a business to get rid of. too many people would go bankrupt."
And divaterry, it is illegal in all of California!
Hey good news, it's already happened, all over the place! I am a smoker, and I really don't have an opinion on it, the only time it frustrates me is when they take the smoking lounges out of the airport. It's not like they were the lap of luxury or anything, we couldn't have had that?? Especially with heightened security, I never get to smoke when I fly now. But as far as restaurants go, I mean it's nice and all, but I can certainly wait until after my meal is done. And I don't see anything in the Constitution about the right to bear Marlboro's. I hate it when people beat on the Constitution like that!

It's a great law, we just implemented one here in Washington back in December and it's been a great thing. Some people stopped going to bars because they couldn't smoke, but others quit, and it brought out more business in the long run because of people who wouldn't go when it smelled like cigarettes. Smoking is horrible for you, and for everyone else, so if you're still going to do it you should have to do it somewhere that you aren't forcing second hand smoke on anyone else.

It already happened in New York and now New Jersey has done it. I don't think that it will hurt business too bad. If that was the case a lot of restaurants in NY would have closed down. The fact is people will just have to go outside to smoke or wait til after. They'll probably wait til after so they don't have to continue interrupting their outing.

I would love it but it will never happen in Gambling States!
Casinos couldn't afford it.
California is working on it, county by county. So are many other areas but it will take a very long time to convince people to stop smoking. The next generation may be the best at it.

I do not think that it will hurt business b/c there are just as many non-smokers as there are smokers. Plus, non-smokers will go there more often.
I also believe that is pointless.

who cares if it hurts bussiness....smoking kills innocent people who have to be in the presence of people who smoke..not to mention its hurting the person who smokes as well. i think killing your self and others is very unconstitutional.

It's unconstitutional. The government can't tell you what to do with something that is legal!
