In the UK, you can go to the job centre, or telephone business link to find out what benefits you may be entitled to. However, with it being different countries, different laws, I don't know how things work over there.

Be careful how much you take on, as you're study will end up suffering. There is the suggestion to increase your hours or get another job, but like you say, that would change your schedule.

A few people may suggest selling things online, but ebay and the likes are ok for getting rid of unwanted items, but as a business it's quite a cut throat market.

Over here, doing a car boot stall usually gets you £10-£100 as a one off. Really depends what sort of stuff you want to get rid of. For example, if you've got a wardrobe full of unworn clothes, latest cds you don't like, or stereos, a ps2 to get rid of then you're bound to make money. Maybe arrange a garage sale? Advertise in your local newspaper.

But yeah check with your college to see if you can get a job they usually offer something to students plus you can keep your other job as well

avon, tupperware (i think they both have catalogs you can pass out rather than have "parties").
there's also other things like that...amway is another.
if you have time to cook or bake, you could offer to make birthday cakes occasionally or other party foods for co-workers, school peoples' parties.
you could do someone elses grocery shopping while doing your own...
or run errands while doing your own. washing clothes.
