Integrity. . One of the words they pretended to teach us in the Army.

Integrity to me is not only having a belief, not only having principals, but being able to voice them and face opposition, and fighting for your beliefs. Not wavering in your beliefs only because someone threatens to hurt you, to throw money at you, or simply so you won't get killed.

I think it doesn't matter whether your opinion is right or wrong, good or bad, since that is all subjective to the believer. Every one of us has different opinions as to what is right and wrong and it often changes based on if we are the judge or the defendant.

I also believe that integrity is the ability to not judge someone else because of their beliefs. I may disagree with you, we can discuss it with civility, and as long as you can respect my beliefs we can be friends and have a beer. If you can't respect me and discuss it with civility, then we's a fighting.

Integrity is my value system. Those values have been tested time and time again in life. Have I always passed those tests? No. That would mean this human being is the only perfect person walking. Yes, do believe I have integrity in the face of adversity or even unpopular opinion if it is my value system, doesn't mean my mind is closed though. Just means I will do in life what is right to me.

Integrity is something that you have through the choices you make.

It means always doing what your inner voice tells you is right....even when you can rationalize a thousand other reasons, for doing the opposite.

A person with integrity does the right thing....no matter how rough things are....or how badly he/she has been treated themselves.

Yes, I do have it. I am living a very difficult life, right now, as opposed to a very cushy one.....because I do. I will not use anyone....and I will not live a lie.

the best way to explain integrity is:

doing the right thing in any situation (even if no one would ever know)

i have it most of the time, sometimes it's hard to do the right thing.. IE I found $10 & the right thing to do is turn it over to the police lost & found..... I just bought me a double bacon cheeseburger.

but, i once found a cell phone & tracked down & got it back to the owner... & several other good deeds but, i just wanted to give a couple of examples.

thanks,

ss
