Don't be scared, flying is easy. The best advice I can give is to just relax. The more relaxed you are the better the flight will be. Take offs and landings are probably the only tricky parts but it isnt anything to be frightened of. When you take off you get pushed back into your seat a little and your ears feel funny (chew gum to help) and when you land your ears feel funny again and there's a bump or two when you land.

Before you fly you need to try to understand what the plane will do and what movements and noises are a regular part of flying and not an indication of a problem.
1. When the plane is on the ground at the gate it is usually pushed back from the gate by a tug and you may hear noises from that. You may also hear noises when luggage is being loaded and the bottom doors are closed.
2. Before the plane flies the wings have to be adjusted for more lift and you may hear noises sounding like a drill or saw as the wing flaps are extended. That's also normal. Then you may hear the sounds of the engines reving up.
3. The plane will roll down the runway and pick up speed and you will probably be pushed back into your seat as the engines are very powerful.
4. When the plane clears the ground you may hear the sound of the wheels being retracted and the bottom doors being closed. After a short while you may hear the drilling sound again as the wings are positions for flight.
5. If you are flying on a partly or mostly cloudy day, you will feel the flight get rough as the plane goes through the clouds and that is because the moisture in the clouds causes the engines to run roughly for a few seconds, and then smooth out after clearing all of the clouds.
6. The flight should be smooth and airlines always make it a point of finding the altitude which is smoothest and they also steer around and away from bad weather.
7. When the plane is about ready to land you may feel it slow a bit and also hear the wings start to adjust and the landing gear door open.

There is nothing to be afraid of when flying. Once you check in at the airport and get to your departure gate you sit and wait until they start boarding the plane. Once you board you walk down this tunnel like hall that takes you to the plane itself. You typically will enter the plane between first class and economy class. The flight attendents will help you to your seat or point you in the right direction. Place any carry on baggage in the overhead compartments and then sit in your seat. I would suggest buckleing the seat belt right away because it can be tricky to get it fastened if there are other passengers next to you. Before take off the flight attendents will tell you turn off cell phones and will go through and inflight saftey movie/demonstration. There is nothing to worry about. Just pay attention. All airlines have the same saftey proceedures. Then the plane will taxi out to the run way and you can look out the window if youd like. You aren't going more than 5-10mph at this point. Once you go to take off you will feel pressure against your body but nothing more than a rollercoaster would give you or what you would expeirence in an elevator going to the top floor with out any stops. This usually lasts for only a few seconds. Once you are above a certain altitude the pilot will tell you can get up and roam the cabin or use the rest room and the use of approved in-flight electronics can be used (cd players, lap tops, mp3 players etc.) If you happen to experience any turbulance you might feel some bumps. Relax. Keep your seat belt fasten. It is not anything to worry about. It is just air pockets in the air. Usually warm air and cool air meeting. It is just a bump. About the same as taking a speed bump too fast in a parking lot. You feel it, but you arent hurt. Other than that there is nothing to flying. When its time to land the pilot will let you know and the descent begins. You wont really feel anything util you touch down. If it is a rough landing it will feel like speed bumps again. If it is a smooth landing you wont feel anything. Most of the time it is almost always a smooth landing. In all of my flights I have only had 2 rough landings and it was only a bumb when the wheels touched down, then it was smooth there on out. Just remember to relax, have fun, and enjoy the flight!

Flying is totally cool! I flew by myself when I was 12 from Texas to New Jersey. I was scared but the stewardess was very nice and made me feel comfortable. Have a great flight and don't worry about a thing. Remember, you won't be able to see the world if you are afraid to fly. Las Vegas is so awesome, you'll want to go visit your Aunt every year.

I would say to bring items to make yourself more comfortable like a small blanket or pillow, snacks, MP# or C.D. player. Non-Stop flights are the best because there is less of a chance of your luggage getting lost due to flight changes. Just try to relax and enjoy the view.

Bring a book or watch the movie (if there is one). Plan to be a little uncomfortable as there is not much room. If you need a restroom there will be one on board. Also there will be a bag at your disposal in case you aren't feeling well. I have flown enough times to know if it would make me sick. I do get motion sick in cars & boats but not planes. You'll be fine & at the end of the ride there is a lot to look forward to.
