how can you tell if your mare is pregnant?

You can have the mare Ultra sounded by a vet at about 2 months to see if there is a foal.There are also new tests on the market you can get.You basically collect pee from the mare ,kind like the human version.Your vet can also take a sample of blood to find out.
Mares don't start showing until about 5-6 months along.I rescued a mare and didn't know she was pregnant until she was 7 months along.One day she just looked really fat.I got suspicious and called the vet and yep,she was preggers.

If she hasn't gone into heat in a while(a month) she could be pregnant but the vet needs to see her to be sure. And I don't mean this to be rude but a sagging fence for a stallion is NOT trying. If you really were being responsible then you would hav went out and bought proper fencing to keep him out. It just doesn't sound very responsible to me that you put up a fence and let it sag and then didn't do anything about it. I'd personally have the foal pinched if she is indeed pregnant. Seriously consider that because there's no reason for such an ugly combination of horses to have a foal(judging by the fact that you were getting him gelded he probably doesn't have good conformation)
