A good relationship is never based on sex, but at the same time bad sex can kill a good relationship.

I would say that sex plays a part in romantic love. Love comes in many forms, but concerning love of the romantic form sexual attraction is just natural. However, a good romantic relationship will be built around the friendship with sex as a nice benefit. A relationship can't be built on sex and remain strong.

There should be an attraction. The relationship should be based on a strong friendship. Sex or love making is not the catch all be all of the relationship it should enhance the relationship. If you don't have a strong friendship first then it will only be about the sex and once that dies then you have nothing left.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Even good relationships need work and it takes two people time to discover what they and their partner desire.
