I can totally understand why people do want to know, but I think that if this kind of information got into the public domain then communities could start to take things into their own hands and start witch-hunts which in turn could drive paedophiles underground which could prove to be more dangerous than just the authorities knowing where they are. A few years ago a newspaper printed the names of suspected paedophiles and communities took things into their own hand and innocent peoples lives were ruined, if people do get this information how do we stop this from happening again.

Yes and no. It wouldn't work cause the tabloid press would make sure that every single one of them has their address printed on the front page and too many idiots would take the law in their own hands.
Repeat sex offenders should not be released in the first place. They should be made guinea pigs and research done on them as to where that kind of behaviour has its roots. Put them all in a colony somewhere offshore. Treat them as if they were in open prison with priveleges for co-operation and basic living conditions for non co-operation.

The GB legal system is more pensive and based on traditions that are over a 1000 years old. The American system is knee jerk and responds to newspaper clamour on a daily basis. If you want that kind of law, move to the US. They like idiots like you.

If you are any kind of parent, you would know of the activities of your children and not wait for some new law to safeguard them.

F*** yeah!!

Why not, I mean I'd rather know who's a paedophile / sex offender / pervert in my area than have to have any children I may have in the future go through the emotional effects of sexual abuse.

yes these animals need to be watched maybe if that was happening a lot of children would not have needlessly been hurt or murdered

i think we should know- we must protect our children-BUT... would it drive the sex offenders into hiding ?. i certainly dont want a peodophile or rapist living in my street- but i rather know exactly where he was- so i could keep clear of him.
