It's how they identify you, and to what they associate you with..........with what particular group of people. Althought I agree stereo - types are ridiculous. I guess it's just how we disern ourselves & our own interests ( likes and dislikes ) also it's where you grow up and the enviorment your surrounded in too
Are you in highschool??? You sound like your naming groups that are in highschool. At least those are the types of people I went to highschool with that were put into categories of stereo-type like that. I am only 25 .....but if your in highschool, and your saying this now, your getting it right. I'm glad to see that you know how stupid they are and just because one person is labeled as a prep ....gangster...etc... Does not mean that anyone knows what kind of person they really are. It's always good to keep an open mind. I think you do that.

Labels or otherwise, people will be judged. A name doesn't have to be placed on it. Stereotypes are stupid, sure, but they're also a natural thing. The second someone finds out I'm bisexual, all of a sudden I become a cheating wh0re. The look at me as a tall, muscular, African American and I become a gang banger. As soon as someone learns I'm atheist I loose all of my morals. That's just how it is, people will naturally judge you based on what you look like and how you dress. There's no getting around it and the best thing you can do is just make a name for yourself outside of the stereotypes.

Yeah, steel is stereotyped. having mentioned that, so are a great sort of genres—u . s . a ., pop, emo, persons, classical, hip hop, decision; all of them have their stereotypes that are no longer actual for all artists. and that i'm getting what Mr. E guy is asserting; to a pair volume, all steel bands share comparable characteristics. that's what a sort is. however the characteristics are easily no longer "noise" or "obnoxious screaming". I basically do no longer have confidence a non-metalhead to tell me what steel is; while somebody says all steel is noise and screaming, i'm compelled to think of they have under no circumstances heard a steel music extra advantageous than two times of their life. Or they are perplexing steel for some thing else. often they could in user-friendly terms supply "exceptions" to classic bands like Metallica or Black Sabbath. yet they are thoroughly oblivious to present day steel bands that still don't extra healthful their ridiculous stereotypes. those are often the comparable people who declare present day track has long gone downhill and don't pay attention to something recorded previous 1975.

Hey ~ I'm with you! It's a lot of bull$hit, people who have the time on their hands to come up with these stereotypes need hobbies.

yes, stereotypes are stupid but we cannot run away from it as it is already in our mind. Of course, unless the whole world will practice Jainism, then we might be all better off and have no steretypes.
