yes there is a spider and a spider web. the spider is located in the top right corner on the face of the bill. it sits on the frame going around the 1 and its in the upper left of the frame. looks like a tiny dot with legs. i have never heard of there being an owl however. i know it is a spider becuase he made the web! And the "little dot" has several legs unlike an owl! i believe those little dots on the spiders body are his eyes.

Look at the face of the bill, and most specifically the upper-right "1," the only one not surrounded by a circular or ovular motif. If you look at this "shield," the left-hand side of it seems to contain a little halo surrounding a small creature in one corner. Grab a magnifying glass or your nana's bifocals and take a look: some think spider, some think Owl. Now, I was raised in the Owl tradition, so I hold fast to that, but please decide for yourself.

One thing I think is much more "spideresque" is also on the front, symmetrically located flanking the words "One Dollar" on the bottom edge. Move about 3/4 inch (Are we metric yet or what) or a few centimeters to either side and you will see two tiny spiders.

I'm not sure, but there's a weird resemblance to the twin towers plane crashes and the pentagon explosion on the 20 dollar bill when folded correctly...
