Elvis Sucks *** because he thinks he's so cool WITH his cool Ducktail! BUT HE ISN'T! He isn't the King of Rock! how could he! he played music not for much! Jimi Hendrix is the King of Rock!
Besides Jim Morrison played music for like 5 yrs and he died and he is alot more popular. And when they look on the head lines and see Elvis Died they go '' Oh who is Elvis?'' and read on and look up his music and get hooked and leave the Really good stuff Behind.

Well maybe because they were good musicians, just not all of their songs were out. You see, most artists that die have a lot of material for songs that has been recoreded or part-way recorded, they just haven't realease it yet. So, in a way, it's like they made new music but they're dead.. liek Tupac and Biggie Smalls... they have become even more famous when they died because a. they got a ton of publicity and b. they had new material out after they died (tupac came out with over 15 after-death cds)

Simple capitalism. Supply and Demand. Once the artist dies, the potential for future works diminishes, and the value of the current ones rises. Plus people love the drama of death.

Same reason that painters get more for their artwork after they're dead. Scarcity raises the price.

Because now that they're dead, they can't continue to create music, and they won't exist anymore.
Because they can't create more music, the musci they have created is more appreciated and cherished, so its more popular.
