"We give the good news ... to the Islamic nation that we have carried God's verdict by slaughtering the two captured crusaders," said the claim, which appeared on an Islamic militant Web site where insurgent groups regularly post statements and videos.
"With God Almighty's blessing, Abu Hamza al-Muhajer carried out the verdict of the Islamic court" calling for the soldiers' slaying, the statement said.
The statement said the soldiers were "slaughtered," suggesting that al-Muhajer beheaded them. The Arabic word used in the statement, "nahr," is used for the slaughtering of sheep by cutting the throat and has been used in past statements to refer to beheadings.

Roddy... I'm starting to think you like me the way you follow me around.
BTW... Ted Kennedys has killed more people in his car than I have in Iraq.
Name calling should be beneath you.

I just read all the comments before I climbed in on this one.
So far I have only seen one muslim say anything. Spelling not that great and neither is my arabic. Yes by the way I am here in the Middle East. I don't hate anybody as far as I can tell. "Hate the sin, love the sinner" mentality. I can see why American's are becoming less tolerant of the situation in Iraq. If I were muslim I'd would at least sit down and think more clearly about my actions toward the soldiers I take prisoner. During Desert Storm we took several thousand (daily almost) Iraqi prisoners. Not one to the man was mistreated (I am not saying that some soldiers don't take matters into their own hands at times, becuase they have and they were dealt with through humane legal processes). We gave then as we do now, dignity and respect to all POWs. This is not wearing underware on heads, being made to stand nude, this was an out right murder of these two American soldiers. This was not combat, this was not part of their job to die unarmed, and bound. The second they were made to surender their weapons they were non-combatants and POWs. These brave men's lives will not go un advendged I am afraid to say, because the American Military personnel, ney the true blooded American citizen will start to carry this to the streets with anger. We don't need that, but I'm afraid that the bleeding heart librals in the U.S.A. are going to be slapped around verbally if they try to back the muslim, now that gets hurt on the street! I Pray to my GOD this doesn't happen and I really pray for peace before they pull all the troops home, and carpet bomb the entire area! Thanks I also pray my GOD protect inocent muslims from harm here and back home in the United States of America.

I don't think Muslims are angry in general. I know a great deal of Muslims that are very peaceful and loving people.
If it were at all possible for Iraq to come to the US and take over would Christian's in the US not be doing the same to an Iraqi occupying force?
I don't want Pat Robertson running the White House just as much as many Muslims don't want the Taliban running Arabic countries.

I am upset that muslims (this is not capitalized on purpose) do this and brag and swagger about it. When they are done with their "crusade" which has waged for hundreds of years and only muslims are left, will they not turn to each other to satisfy their bloodthirstiness and nahr? Yes, of course they will because the war they have been waging can only end in the death of everyone on this planet and then what will the last muslim standing do? The last muslim standing will commit suicide because finally he will realize that the war was arrogant and for nothing and that all mankind wasted their efforts to have nothing left. Good luck to the beheaders, you are on a dangerous and faulty path.

First of all, this has not been authenticated.
Second, it has been proven that some of the "so called" Islamic militant sites are rooted and controlled in western countries.
Third, I am a Muslim and definitely any murder or torture is unacceptable. I cannot understand why many of the yahoo answers are discriminating Muslims. I believe that we need to do proper research before we slander, discriminate and convict people based on false information, otherwise our personal hatred will grow and grow and eat us individually.
Would someone please cite one verse from the Qura'n that states we hate other religions, must fight them and rule the world.
I can cite many that contradict this misconception.
Please but your bias aside and try to get real facts for then there is hope for all of us.

We are very scared of people who cannot fight in the open, who must hide amoungst women and children. People who cower in showdows like rats. I don't believe that most men of the Islamic faith fit this discription, but those that terrorize the civialians in Iraq, and all over the world, are just little minds following not the words of God but the will of a coward who hides in caves.

I'm sure it's very aggravating for muslims, they are battling that image every step, no matter how they personally live and believe, they have to fear persecution even here.
as I'm sure other answers you get will prove. Shame on all who are making them feel hurt, it totally betrays the concept of "freedom" americans claim to treasure so highly to deny muslim americans their freedom from oppression!

I'm not Muslim and I'm still upset by it. I do not consider any terrorist to be a Muslim. I consider a terrorist to be an extremist and not worthy of any honor. There is no glory in murder. I wish they could understand this.
