He is six years old-I couldn't find any in Toy-R-Us-any chains or stores would be very helpful. I need it by this week-end.

Try Hibbet Sports.

You can purchase bags that have a plastic base which can be filled with water or sand.
Those type of bags are adjustable so as your child grows he will not outgrow the bag.

I got one for my son at Ikea. In the kids section. It's great... he uses it as a swing!! It was less than $20. Hope that helps.
I've also seen them at Wal Mart in the sporting good section.

no, I doubt you will find one, they are disapproved of worse than toy guns, they teach kids to hit.
